Ok, I'll admit it, as a Birmingham Realtor® and a home buyer, I like Ross Bridge. At the time of our initial visit, Ross Bridge was one of the newest developments in the Birmingham area. Now, just a few years later, Ross Bridge is still new, but with the community filling out, the overall master planned community is starting to reveal it's designed character. Not only a place for homes, Ross Bridge combines a world class gold course and 5 STAR Resort into the residential development making this truly a resort style living community.

Ross Bridge History

Ross Bridge derives it's name from the pages of Alabama's history. During the Civil War, the owner of the land at the time, James Taylor Ross, allowed the Confederate Army to build a railroad supply line through his property. In order to complete the railway, a bridge had to be constructed to span Ross Creek. The little stone bridge still stands today over Ross Creek and is marked with a historic site marker.

Ross Bridge Information

As you drive past the historic marker near Ross Creek, You will begin to notice the golf course on the left. Glancing thought the trees you will also start to catch glimpses of the Ross Bridge Resort. As you turn into the welcome center, off to the left you will see the resort rising through the trees. This initial view into Ross Bridge makes you realize that you are entering a truly special residential development.

When you've visited other developments in the US Steel Real Estate Portfolio (Trace Crossings, The Preserve) there is a high level of expectation associated with the homes and community atmosphere in the developments. Ross Bridge certainly maintains this high level!

Ross Bridge is subdivided into six distinct neighborhoods. Although each neighborhood shares in the Ross Bridge development, each one maintains their own identity. Each neighborhood has it's own selection of styles in which to choose your home. Each neighborhood represents a different price range, although overlap does occur at the high and low ends the neighborhoods.

Since the obvious difference between the neighborhoods is price, we expected to notice "sacrifices" of style or amenities at the low end to accommodate the reduced prices, but honestly, the quality or amenities didn't seem cannibalized at all. We were just as impressed with the homes in the $200K's as we were with homes selling in the $500K's!

Ross Bridge has all the makings of a great place to call home. When you look a the history of the developers involved in creating Ross Bridge and their previous accomplishments, we feel confident that Ross Bridge will be a fine place to buy a home.

>New construction for sale can be found along the parkway and entrance to the resort section of the development. These homes range in price, but are nearing the $1 Million dollar price range. When I first heard they were being built, I was a little skeptical about the price, but after taking the time to walk through one of these homes recently, I was not disappointed in the least! If this is your price range, you owe it to yourself to check out these fine built homes!
