Chelsea Park is one of the newest developments under construction in Chelsea Alabama. Developed by Eddleman Properties, Chelsea Park features homes built by G.S. Masters Inc. and Thornton Homes. This master planned community features homes in just about every price range featuring a wide gambit of amenities! This 3000 home community will feature park system, shopping center, two lakes and an elementary school.

I can recall my first visit to Chelsea Park...

"That's a big tower!" I teased.

Expecting more fluff than quality, I was pleasantly surprised as I rounded the corner and began to take in the beautiful scenery of Chelsea Park. Back then, the only houses under construction were the homes near the front of the development in the $300K to $400K range. To be honest, I was surprised to see these homes being established off the get-go. But, after being in Chelsea Park and other Eddleman Developments, I realized that I was in for a treat.

Why a treat? Because I knew I would enjoy touring homes with the types of amenities and attention to detail Eddleman places in their developments. For instance, the lots, for the most part, are set back from the road, which keeps these larger homes from looking like they are over-powering. A large home requires a large lot, and these homes adhere to that rule. Next, the fact that not every house is exactly the same, or a mirror image of the neighboring home and floor plan.

Now that the development has been underway for a time, other sections of Chelsea Park are completed and have homes on the ground available for purchase. Although the lot size and amenities go up with the price, the homes representing each price range are quality builds and good looking homes. For example, recently, I viewed a home listed at $250K then another at $180K. Personally, I enjoyed the less expensive home. Great layout, good quality building materials, I found the home very inviting and comfortable! Instead of sacrificing quality of construction, the lower price range homes in Chelsea Park have vinyl flooring, carpet and laminate countertops as opposed to ceramic and wood flooring and solid surface countertops! There are other differences of course, but those in my opinion are the most obvious.

Would I recommend Chelsea Park? You bet! In fact I recently toured the subdivision with my parents!

CHELSEA PARK UPDATE: One thing residents and individuals may enjoy is the opening of a new WalMart in the Chelsea area. This new shopping plaza will allow residents of Chelsea Park and other neighborhoods the ability to shop locally without having to venture north or south on 280 to shop.

Chelsea Park is located in Chelsea, Alabama off HWY 280. Take HWY 280 East (South) from Birmingham to Chelsea. Pass the Winn Dixie, go approximately 1.5 miles, Chelsea Park entrance is on the right. (Look for the large clock tower at the top of the hill).
