Carrington Lakes is a 1,500 acre, mater planned community in Trussville, Alabama. Carrington Lakes boasts a gated community lifestyle, complete with walking trails, private lakes, and community pool. Homes range in price from 100K to over 1 Million and are separated accordingly throughout the development.
When you first turn into Carrington Lakes, you will drive through a nature preserve before encountering any of the homes of the development. This nature area provides a nice buffer from HWY 11, the proverbial lifeline to the Trussville subdivision residents.
As you wind your way past the different sections of Carrington Lakes, you will notice different styles of homes, sharing one common denominator, good sized lots! The homes are situated back from the roadways, and even though the lots are well sized, one never has the feeling of not being in a community atmosphere.
Carrington Drive delivers you right to the gatehouse. Once through the gates, you will notice the new construction and development underway in this gated section. The clubhouse and pool are fantastic! Heading to the top of the crest, entrances to different sections of homes begin to appear. Right or left, either way will take you to new construction or previously occupied homes for sale. The only difference is price point.
What I enjoyed was the selection of styles and homes in this price range. For example, I found a great floorplan, but I need a basement. Well, I found it. I know the question already. Let me put your fears to rest, no, not every house is exactly the same! It is just a good selection of styles and amenities that are incorporated into the homes to meet different individual housing needs.
Upon entering one home, let me preface, the home was under construction, maybe 85% complete, I noticed a builders punch list. Quite honestly, I was impressed with that list. The attention to detail of the list created by the builder gave me a comfortable feeling that the home is/was a quality job. So many times we see finish work left incomplete or hastily thrown into place that this little list left a great impression on me not only as a home shopper, but as a Realtor® as well! After touring several other homes in differing price ranges, I came away with a very favorable impression of Carrington Lakes. In fact, the next weekend, I entertained some clients with the notion of purchasing their retirement home in this gated community section.
Overall, Carrington Lakes has good features and amenities along with some beautiful and well designed homes. Add in the scenery with the community atmosphere and Carrington Lakes becomes one of the premier residential developments in the Trussville area.
Carrington Lakes is located off HWY 11 in Trussville, Alabama. From Birmingham, take I-59 towards Gadsden. Take exit 143, Deerfoot Parkway. Go left at the top of the ramp. At the junction with HWY 11, go left again. Approximately 3 miles down the road is the entrance to Carrington Lakes. Take a right onto Carrington Drive.
